Despite the dismal weather it’s a great day for Seaborn as the marine cable landing of Seabras-1 in Brazil is now complete as the cable is pulled to shore from the installation vessel.
10,800+km of cable, 125 repeaters and multiple branching units are now in position as we near the ready-for-service date.
Seaborn’s skilled operations team was on hand (no pun intended!) to ensure all went smoothly despite the rain.
Seabras-1 is the only direct POP-POP system to connect NY metro with São Paulo. Branching units from Seabras-1 will allow for additional route diversity to Virginia Beach, Miami, St. Croix, Fortaleza, Rio de Janeiro, and Brazil South. Seaborn’s ARBR system will connect Praia Grande to Las Toninas, for onward connectivity to Buenos Aires.
