Final splice completed for Seabras-1
Boston – July 10, 2017 – Seaborn Networks, a leading developer-owner-operator of submarine cable systems, announced it has completed the final splice for Seabras-1, which is the only direct POP to POP submarine cable system between São Paulo (Brazil) and New York (US). This is a significant milestone as Seaborn prepares Seabras-1 for its ready-for-service date in August 2017.
Seabras-1 is owned by Seabras Group. The completion of the system is the culmination of more than five years of work and more than USD 520 million of project financing. Seaborn operates and maintains Seabras-1 from its offices in the United States and Brazil, including Seaborn’s own network operations centers in New Jersey and Massachusetts.
“This is a tremendous achievement for both Seaborn and Seabras-1,” said Larry Schwartz, Chairman and CEO of both Seabras Group and Seaborn Networks.
