Seaborn Networks’ Seabras-1 Subsea Cable Between New York and São Paulo Wins ‘Greenfield Deal of the Year’ Award

Boston, July 25, 2016 – Seaborn Networks, a preeminent developer-owner-operator of subsea fiber optic cable systems, announced that its Seabras-1 subsea cable project between the US and Brazil was selected as 2016 “Greenfield Deal of the Year” by international finance magazine World Finance. This is the fourth international award this year to recognize Seaborn’s project.

This award is one of 13 announced by World Finance in the Project Finance category. Seaborn is the developer and operator and, together with Partners Group, owns Seabras-1.

Seaborn completed its US$500 million financing for the 72Tbps Seabras-1 system more than six months ago. Manufacturing of the full system is ongoing and, when completed in Q2 2017, will provide the first-ever direct point-to-point cable between New York City and São Paulo.
